The artifact is a weapon design of the 22 Heritage Rough Rider Revolver. The weapon was modeled using Blender. Each part of the weapon was modeled separately and then pieced together. The textures were made using Blender’s Shading mode, where I used nodes to create the textures for the metal, the handle, and for the wooden handles. I then animated the weapon in Blender to cock and fire all 6 22 LR (Long Rifle) bullets, which were also modeled in Blender. The design process was tough, it required a lot of trial and error, a lot of research, and determination but I am very happy with the outcome.

Node View:
With the use of Blender’s nodes and the help from online forums and YouTube tutorials, I was able to make textures without having to bring an image or having to UV map the models. The process was a bit crazy since there’s so many different types of nodes that go into creating a material and the many different ways to connect them to create what you’re looking for.
Design Process:
Using my own knowledge of blender along with tutorials on YouTube, using references plus what I found on the internet, and reviewing other artist’s 3D model on revolvers similar to the .22 Heritage Rough Rider Revolver:
. First began by modeling the weapon in sperate parts
. I modeled the cylinder first then moved on to the barrel, then to the metal handle with the trigger, then the wooden handles, then the hammer, then the round ejecting rod, and then finally smalls details like screws and other parts.
. I then began texturing the wooden handles using nodes in Blender
. I also used nodes to texture the metal parts and to add in details like dirt and scratches
. I then added in a background image that would act as a real world environment to provide natural lighting for the weapon to display it
. Afterwards I animated the weapon to cock and fire all six 22 LR bullets
